This piece is the first in a new series of coastal-inspired paintings, and explores the rustic, unrefined and sublime elements of the Pacific Northwest seashore. It's textured and layered, featuring a simple horizon in the distance and abstracted visual details in the foreground. This painting reminds that Nature is a force beyond our human control, and as an artist, I can only strive to capture moments of it, passing in time and perception.
This piece is finished with gloss varnish for UV protection, painted on the sides with a coordinating green tone.
Signed, titled and dated on the back.
